Job brief

We are looking for an experienced Optical Designer who can provide application oriented guidance to our customers and technical feedback to our software team. Anax Optics Inc. has developped the novel Hyperion software for automated design of freeform micro-lens-array optics. A basic requirement for using this software consists in understanding how to specify “realisable” optical systems. The candidate will provide the necessary insights to our customers (by communicating via slack and video conferencing), and give technical feedback to the software team whenever new functionality is needed.

The candidate should have a solid technical knowledge of optical design software (e.g. Zemax, CodeV or equivalent) and be able to communicate effectively to understand customer problems and propose solutions.

The goal is to create value for clients that will help enhance the company’s reputation and business.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Optical Designer 
• Retired engineers are welcome to postulate for a part-time position
• Ability to leverage prior knowledge in designing new optical systems
• Proficiency in Japanese or English
• Good communication skills
• Customer-oriented and cool-tempered
